Registration Information

CAL POLY REGISTRATION

Students search for classes and plan and save potential class schedules in PASS (Plan a Student Schedule) and register for classes in CPReg. Registration appointment times are found in the Student Center and on the Registration Rotation Schedule found in Calendars and Deadlines. PASS and CPReg are available in the portal on the Registration and Enrollment tab and CPReg can also be accessed directly from the Student Center.

Registration Rotation System

Higher priority is given to students with special needs and first-time students who need an advantage to begin their academic careers on a positive note. The remaining students are placed in the upper half of the 'Continuing Students and Former Students' registration category every other quarter (except Summer Quarter). Example: Fall - upper half; Winter - lower half; Spring - upper half; Fall - lower half, etc. Summer is on a separate appointment schedule.

Registration Categories

Each continuing student has been placed in one of 12 alphabetical rotation groups that are rotated each term. Within a category is an assigned appointment time to register. Determine your registration appointment time by locating your student category, the alpha category according to the first three letters of your last name. You may register on any scheduled day after your registration appointment time begins.
